Lost amidst competition, Google came in and acquired Fitbit for $2.1 billion in 2019.
Fitbit website warns users that they will not be able to log in to their Fitbit account with Google Credentials. Existing Fitbit users will be able to access their accounts till early 2025.
Google said that this is being done to “align our hardware portfolio to map closer to Pixel’s regional availability.”
Google is no longer selling Fitbit products in 29 markets, including Asia-Pacific region, South Africa, and the EU,
